Founder's Day
The 7th annual Bridgeport Founder’s Day 2009 Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 5th, co-sponsored by the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce, the Mono County Historical Society, and Mono County Tourism and Film Commission.

Daytime activities will begin at 10 AM. Events will include team branding at the Centennial Livestock rodeo arena on the west side of town and free hay rides at the Bridgeport Ranch next to the rodeo arena, courtesy of Ted Holloway of Smith Valley, Nevada. There will be an Old Time Photography Revelations at the Courthouse.

Live blue grass music performed by Big Meadow will be provided in front of the Courthouse. The Barber Shop Quartet, Wild Card, will be roaming the streets of Bridgeport all day. Activities and booths on the Courthouse lawn will include cowboy leathercraft, knife sales, a fly fishing exhibition, and Smokey the Bear. The Delta Gold Diggers from the Stockton Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America will demonstrate gold panning techniques and allow visitors to try their luck. .

Historical information and sales will be available from the Friends of Bodie and the Mono County Historical Society.

The Memorial Hall will present the popular annual quilt exhibit. Artists Alan Lugena and Patricia Babbitt will display their watercolor paintings of local scenes. Delicious Indian tacos will be available outside the hall prepared by members of the Bridgeport Indian Colony. Also upstairs at the Memorial Hall will be a performance of a meladrama put on by the Bridgeport Theatre Group from 4 to 6 pm.

The Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department will host a high-noon open house.

The Bridgeport Gun Club will serve a spaghetti dinner plus trimmings for $15, between 6 pm and 7 pm, followed by a dessert auction and a historical program narrated by Terri Geissinger, Bodie State Park Interpreter.
